Must read

Blogging has become a common hobby for many people who spend a lot of time on the internet. It’s one form of emotional outlet. It’s also a way to share your experiences with others. It’s a venue for sharing knowledge, recipes, tips, and tricks about anything under the sun. Blogging is easily accessible for everyone, especially through free webs.

If you want to be a successful blogger, you need more than just the knowledge of writing. Before you pour out your thoughts for all the world to see, here are 10 commandments of blogging that you will want to review.

1. Follow a theme.

What makes your blog unique and stand out from other blog sites will be your theme.

A theme will be your most talked about topic and interest. Sure, you may change your theme anytime and it is advisable that you also explore other topics too.

2. Decide your anonymity.

When you put up your blog, think over whether you would like to disclose your identity, especially considering the theme that you will follow. In some cases, revealing your identity can be beneficial while it is the opposite in some cases too. It is important to decide on this before you start your blog.

3. Write as yourself.

The good thing about having your own blog is that you write as yourself and you have your own theme to follow. Therefore, you can upload articles and pieces that are suitable for yourself, first of all.

4. Keep the blog updated.

One essential point to keep the interest of your followers is to make sure that you keep the blog updated. At least two or three articles every week will keep your followers coming back and even add more.

5. Keep it simple.

Keep it direct and simple. An article with 500 to 700 words will do. Most blog followers like to read through clipped and simple articles.

6. Mention your inspirations and references.

Don’t forget to link to other blog sites, especially for references or those who inspired you on the articles you upload.

7. Add photos.

Photos are a requirement for every blog – at least if you want to make sure that your blog site remains interesting. Add photos to your articles.

8. Have a “Contact Me” area.

Be sure to have a way for your followers to contact you easily. This can either be through email or chat from the site itself. Also, be prompt when responding to messages.

9. Respond to comments.

Respond with thoughtful words to comments left on your articles. Stay professional and friendly always.

10. It’s your blog.

The whole point is that this is your blog and you can really do anything you want with it. It’s your call on how you can improve your blog site.

Although the rules do not really paint a black and white requirement for blogging, it helps to know what you can do to improve your blog site. After all, we create blogs and submit our articles so others may also learn about what we know. This means more and more followers when you blog right
