Uploading the Images on Your WordPress Dashboard
The Media Library can be found on the left side of your WordPress dashboard. Click on this and find the upload or add new button. You can then choose the picture files on your computer so that you can save these on your Media Library for future use.
How to Put an Image in Your Post
Place your cursor on the particular part of your post where you want to insert the picture. You can then click on the Add Media button which can be found on the upper left corner of the box that you’re composing in. The Media Library will then pop up and this will show all the pictures that you have previously uploaded to your WordPress.
Now there are a lot of options there so you can customize the appearance of the images according to your preferences. You can position the picture to the center, right, or left. You will also be given several choices for the size. In general, it is advisable to pick the medium size as the small size can go unnoticed. And if you opt for the large size, it can take over the whole article.

If you want, you can also fill in the Alternative Text box on the image section too. This will help if you are targeting a particular set of keywords for your article. Putting in your keywords in that box will help the search engines decipher what your site is all about and make it rank for the keyword as well.
